Pastry Baker
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pastry Baker at SAINT-JEAN, you will take part in the daily preparation, baking, and finishing of our signature pastries and viennoiseries — ensuring that every product reflects our high standards of craftsmanship, taste, and presentation.
Working closely with our bakery team, your focus will be on the production and oven work of laminated and baked goods such as croissants, danishes, brioches, and seasonal creations. You will be responsible for ensuring that all pastries are baked to perfection, follow visual and quality guidelines, and consistently meet our expectations for flavour, texture, and appearance.
You will also contribute to recipe development, continuously refining our techniques and introducing new ideas that align with the creative direction of SAINT-JEAN. Maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe workspace will be essential, as will full adherence to hygiene and food safety regulations.
This position requires a solid understanding of lamination and baking processes, a sharp eye for detail, and a true passion for creating exceptional pastries that embody our plant-based ethos and commitment to quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare, proof, and bake viennoiseries and pastries to the highest standard
Ensure all products are baked according to SAINT-JEAN quality and presentation guidelines
Maintain consistency, efficiency, and accuracy across all production stages
Support the team with recipe testing and development of new products
Keep the production area clean, organized, and compliant with hygiene regulations
Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth daily operations and continuous improvement
ABOUT YOU
Proven experience in viennoiserie and laminated doughs (croissants, brioches, danishes, etc.)
Strong understanding of baking techniques and oven work
Quality-driven with great attention to detail and presentation
Creative, innovative, and passionate about pastry and flavour
Organized, proactive, and able to manage workload efficiently
Team player with good communication skills and a positive mindset
Well-presented and comfortable working in a semi-open kitchen
Available for 32–38 hours per week, including weekends
Experience with plant-based products is a plus, but not required
