Head Baker
As the Head Baker, you will take on a leadership role in managing and optimizing the production of our Bakery & Deli products. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality sourdough bread loaves, pastries, and other baked goods, maintaining consistency, flavor, and presentation at all times. Your role will encompass a combination of hands-on baking, team leadership, and organizational responsibilities. You will report directly to the Head Chef, ensuring alignment with the overall culinary vision and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Production Oversight:
Manage the daily production schedule to meet demand while minimizing waste.
Oversee the crafting of sourdough breads, laminated pastries, and other bakery items, ensuring all products meet our high standards.
Lead recipe development and refinement, fostering innovation while maintaining the authenticity of our brand.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor the bakery team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
Train and onboard new bakers, ensuring they adhere to company standards and techniques.
Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
Optimization and Organization:
Monitor and improve production processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
Manage inventory and procurement of ingredients, ensuring freshness and availability while controlling costs.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace, adhering to hygiene and safety standards.
Compliance and Standards:
Ensure full compliance with food safety, health regulations, and company policies.
Regularly review and implement updates to processes in line with industry best practices.
Extensive experience in sourdough baking, lamination, and a variety of baked goods.
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and manage a team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Quality-driven with a passion for continuous improvement.
Creative and innovative, with a commitment to staying ahead of trends in the baking industry.
Effective communicator, adaptable, and solution-oriented.
Available for 38 hours per week - flexible weekends.
