We are looking for a skilled and experienced Head Baker, full-time, to lead our passionate bakery team and oversee the production and operations of our bakery.

ABOUT THE JOB

As the Head Baker, you will take on a leadership role in managing and optimizing the production of our Bakery & Deli products. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality sourdough bread loaves, pastries, and other baked goods, maintaining consistency, flavor, and presentation at all times. Your role will encompass a combination of hands-on baking, team leadership, and organizational responsibilities. You will report directly to the Head Chef, ensuring alignment with the overall culinary vision and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Oversight:

    • Manage the daily production schedule to meet demand while minimizing waste.

    • Oversee the crafting of sourdough breads, laminated pastries, and other bakery items, ensuring all products meet our high standards.

    • Lead recipe development and refinement, fostering innovation while maintaining the authenticity of our brand.

  • Team Leadership:

    • Supervise and mentor the bakery team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.

    • Train and onboard new bakers, ensuring they adhere to company standards and techniques.

    • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

  • Optimization and Organization:

    • Monitor and improve production processes to enhance efficiency and quality.

    • Manage inventory and procurement of ingredients, ensuring freshness and availability while controlling costs.

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace, adhering to hygiene and safety standards.

  • Compliance and Standards:

    • Ensure full compliance with food safety, health regulations, and company policies.

    • Regularly review and implement updates to processes in line with industry best practices.

ABOUT YOU

  • Extensive experience in sourdough baking, lamination, and a variety of baked goods.

  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and manage a team.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Quality-driven with a passion for continuous improvement.

  • Creative and innovative, with a commitment to staying ahead of trends in the baking industry.

  • Effective communicator, adaptable, and solution-oriented.

  • Available for 38 hours per week - flexible weekends.

  • Availalbe to start in March 2025
